Dear Students, Parents, and Teachers,

 

 

Chinese Lunar New Year is on February 7, celebrating the year of the Rat.  We wish you all a happy, peaceful, and prosperous new year.  Chinese School is hosting a New Year Carnival to celebrate this special day.  Details are as follow,

 

Date:   January 6, 2008

Time:   11:45 am – 3:30 pm (All students need to report to your teacher for attendance)

            11:30 am    Tickets will be on sale for the food and games.

            12:00 pm – 12:30 pm   Performance by Dance & Yo- Yo team (During this half hour, there  

                                                  will be no activities for ticket sales, food stand, and carnival games.)

            12:30 pm     Carnival starts.

            3:30 pm       Carnival ends.  We will start to clean up the Ballroom.

Place:  PSU Smith Memorial Hall, Ballroom at 3rd floor

 

Activities include:

·        Food Stands:           Providing authentic Taiwanese dish, restaurant quality food, and

                               bubble tea.                    

·        Game Booths:          There are 13 game booths for kids of all ages, one provided by each class. 

·        Auction Table:         Portland Chinese School PTA—Bottle water.

                                            Kathy Li—Chinese craft.

                                                All auction incomes are for Chinese School educational fund.

 

Reminders for booth setup:

·        Ballroom open for booth set up at 10:30am. All decoration has to be done before carnival starts.

·        Decorations can’t change or interfere with facility design and must be easily remove upon 

      completion of the carnival. No posting, painting, digging, nail, pin, etc… on wall, window, or

      floor is allowed. 

·        Size:     12ft (width) X 10ft (depth)

            School provides 1 table (6ft x 2.5ft) and 2 chairs (1.5ft x 1.5ft)

·        Please provide your own extension cords for any electricity usage.

 Cleaning up:  

        All debris is in garbage bags and put them in storage room next to kitchen.  If you need broom or

        mob, they can be found in kitchen.  Please return them as soon as you finish.                

  

Carnival Tickets:       

        According to the regulation of PSU, cash transaction is not allowed among all the carnival

        activities.  All tickets will be sold by Portland Chinese School only. Tickets will be available for

        $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, $5.00, &$10.00.  After event ends, please refer to PCS treasurer for cashing-

        in tickets.
